Er:YAG LASER treatment of gingival melanin hyperpigmentation: a case report.

Aim: The aim of this clinical report was to evaluate the effectiveness of Erbium:Y ttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Er:YAG) LASER in treatment of gingival hyperpigmentation. Methods: Patient with a gingival hyperpigmentation was treated by ablation using an Er:YAG LASER in combination with an esthetic restorative rehabilitation. Resul t : Patient was satisfied with the esthetic outcome immediately and after 6-months follow-up. Conclusion: Treatment of gingival hyperpigmentation with an Er;YAG LASER showed effectiveness and safety. Gingival condition should be assessed carefully before selection of this technique.
