KEBERGANTUNGAN INTERNET DAN AKTIVITI ONLINE REMAJA DI LEMBAH KELANG

The nature of the Internet that invites active participation has created a sense of dependency on its use among youth. This shows that the use of the Internet has its purpose and aim. This phenomenon has created a relationship between users and the Internet. Using Media Systems Dependency Theory, this study looks at the level of dependency on the Internet amongst youth within the vicinity of Klang Valley. Research results revealed that youth depends on the Internet for various reasons: to understand the social environment, to interact and to fulfill social needs and not personal ones. Indeed, Facebook is the most liked social net to chat with others.
