SOCIAL PROTEST IN ANUM RANUM: THE AUTHOR’S CONSCIENCE

This article analyses the social issues faced by the Malays which are portrayed in short stories written by Razali Endun. The stories are published as an anthology with the title Anum Ranum. The author expressed his protest about the Malays who are obsessed with political powers and material wealth. Corruption and power abuse are common practices among them. They are also neglecting their own tradition such as custom and language. All the issues are reflecting the reality in our present society.
