This paper is an introspective view on the growth and development of the Malay language through time and space. The view is based on a long, deep contemplation on the roles played by the language. It had been historical proven that the Malay language withstand various challenges through times. In fact, it has continually played a dynamic roles in the building of human capital. This could be unveiled from its great roles in economic, social, politic, science and technology of the nation. This is because it stand on a strong core value, Islam.
