YOUTH PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT AND SPB4K THEORY IN NISAH HARON’S NOVELS

Thoughts mean ideas in the minds of intellectuals who utilize their faculty of critical thinking in order to make decisions and formulate creative ideas. Thoughts involve events of the past, present and future. All information interpreted will provide meanings to the individual. Thoughts are also involved in a person’s life in the aspect of his sense of the abstract, concrete, reality and fantasy. The personality development of youths is considered very important to ensure the development and continuance of a nation. This research is aimed at exploring the thoughts of the writer Nisah Haron in her novels Tawarikh Cinta (2008) and Lentera Mustika (2009) in relation to developing the personality of the youths. The objective of this research is to identify and analyse the thoughts of the writer in relation to her works. This research utilizes the System of Integrated Thinking Theory 4K (SPB4K) which was introduced by Mohd Yusof Hassan for the purpose of textual analysis. The researcher found that all four aspects in the SPB4K Theory, which are spiritual thoughts, intellectual thoughts, scientific thoughts and creative thoughts, are evident in the texts. The implication of this research is that female creative writers are encouraged to produce works with the personality development of youths as the major theme.
