  • Abstract
    This study discusses the approach and the teaching methods applied by Islamic Education teachers in teaching prayers in the classroom. Approaches and methods play an important role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning Islamic education. The approaches are divided into the deductive approach, inductive approach, eclectic approach, thematic approach and the teaching aids approach. Other methods include lecture, discussion, demonstration and troubleshooting. The quantitative approach has been used in this study. Descriptive analysis was to determine the approach and methods of teaching prayers. Results showed that the level of teaching approaches and methods in teaching prayers are high. In addition, appropriate approaches and methods are to attract students to seek knowledge, understand the teaching of religious prayers and to increase the student’s motivation. Thus, it is hoped that this study can help Islamic Education teachers in particular to determine the suitability of approaches and methods in teaching prayers.
