Abstract :
General purpose of this study was to determine the situation of primary schools’ being professional learning societies. Survey model was used in the study. Target population of the study was the teachers working in the primary schools at Demirci in Manisa and Sincan in Ankara. The scale had 3 subdimensions; the whole scale explained 68% of variance, reliabilitycoefficient of the scale was .97. In the analysis of the data gathered in the study descriptivestatistics, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F test are used. It was found out that teachershighly agreed the level of sharing the aim of their schools and these aims’ focusing on learning,the level of primary schools’ possessing cooperative professional development activities andteachers participation in decisions and level of being supported. According to the findings, itis possible to state that primary schools are professional learning societies on a large scale.
