Abstract :
The objective of this study is the comparison of state or private primary school 3th, 4th and 5thgrade students’ venturesomeness and the fear of negative evaluation degrees in the way of howthey understand their mother – father attitudes. The sampling of this study was constituted from99 students who are still studying at a private school and 116 students who are still studyingat two different state schools. The form, which was created by Perris and his friends (1980)and which includes 23 questions and three sub-scales named by Arrindel (1999) as rejection,emotional warmth and excessive conservatism was applied to the sampling group to evaluatemother - father attitudes perceiving. Venturesomeness was evaluated with VenturesomenessInventory which has 45 questions and was created by Topukçu (1982). The fear of negativeevaluation was evaluated with “Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale” that has 30 questions andvalidity and reliability of which was done by Erkan (2002). The data was analyzed throughthe SPSS (11.0) statistical program. Within this study, T-Test was used for mutual comparisonsand “One-way Variance Analysis(ANOVA)” was used for multiple comparisons and “Post-Hoc Tukey” test was used to determine which groups were the reason of differentiationsoccurring among the groups. At the end of the study, it was found that type of the school affectsventuresomeness points significantly and it was also found that mother - father attitude sub–scales (rejection, emotional warmth and excessive conservatism) are caused an intergroupdifferentiation in some variables(sex, type of school, educational background, employmentstatus of the mother, occupation of the father, the number of the kids in the family) in favor ofprivate school students.
