Abstract :
This study was carried out in order to determine the effects of parents’ marital adjustments and social support systems on preschoolers’ problem behaviors. The universe of interest for this study included preschoolers, aged six, enrolled in public schools and their families in Ankara. The sample of this study consisted of 89 preschoolers, aged six, and 89 parents randomly selected from these districts, in total N=178 people. “Problem Behavior Scale section of Preschool and KindergartenBehavior Scales (PKBS–2)”, “Marital Adjustment Scale”, and “MultidimensionalScale of Perceived Social Support” were used as data collection tools and “PersonalInformation Form” was used to collect demographic data. The present study is adescriptive study. According to the statistical analyses, it was determined that therewas a statistically significant negative correlation between preschoolers’ problembehaviors and parents’ social support systems (p 0.05). Similarly, there was astatistically significant negative correlation between preschoolers’ externalizingproblem behaviors and parents’ marital adjustments (p 0.05). Problem behaviors ofchildren doesn’t differantiate according to the variables like; form of marriage, typeof marriage, the duration of marriage (p 0.05).
