Peta Budaya Wilayah Utara: Metodologi dan Aplikasi

The objectives of The Northern Region Natural and Cultural Heritage Study, School of Humanities was to collect data related to culture, heritage and recreation which include, presentation culture, oral as well as buildings and related locations in the states of the Peninsular Malaysia Northern Region. Apart from collecting data such as text, oral, photo and etc., this study will also develop geographic or location data of each culture and heritage involved. Next, will be the creation of Northern Region’s cultural database and the development of Northern Region Cultural Map (NRCM). The development of “Cultural Map” will involve the integration of spatial information technology, online application, open source GIS and spatial data with architecture and humanities distribution related to cultural heritage. NRCM is also one of the study in multiple subjects which involves information technology in the effort to develop Cultural Atlas in accordance to the Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative (ECAI). The online cultural map is vital in the preservation, maintenance and conservation efforts and as a promotion to the related locations of heritage and culture. This paperwork will discussed the Methodology and the development of the Northern Region “Cultural Map” application.
