Unsur-Unsur Ilmu Badi’ Arab dalam Syair Hamzah Fansuri

Al-Badi’ is a branch of Arabic rhetoric dealing with figures of speech and the art of beautiful style in prose, poetry, Quran and other texts. Al-Badi’ contains more than 30 topics that can be found in the rhetoric books. In this article, the researcher would like to discuss some aspects of al-badi’ which are quite more relevant and can be applied easily on the poems of Hamzah Fansuri. These aspects are iqtibas, tibaq, jinas, tawriyah, saj’, and muwazanah. This article exposes readers on how much aspects of al-badi’ had been applied in poems of Hamzah Fansuri. The result of the research shows that the poems of Hamzah Fansuri were influenced by the many aspects of Arabic rhetoric beside the language and philosophies of Islam and Arab muslim.
