Culture and civilisation played an important role in shaping society. History has proven that the past glory of Islamic civilisation has emerged from the people who have high self-esteem and adhere to the teachings of Islam. Therefore this paper will discuss the concept of culture and civilisation and the continuity of culture and civilisation from the Islamic perspective. This was evident during the golden age of Islamic civilisation in the Malay World. The Malays domination of commercial and business, long time ago, proves that the influence of Islamic civilisation on economic development was highly significant. In order to realize this noble cultural knowledge that form the core of civilisation, the Malay community should be strengthened particularly their business traders. However mastery of cultural knowledge, including those related to the latest ICT developments should be based on Islamic morality that forms the ethical entrepreneurial attitude among-Muslim Bumiputera entrepreneurs. Therefore, continuous efforts to foster a culture of ethical business through formal and informal education should be strengthened in order to bring back the glory of Malay-Islamic civilisation.
