Global Resources and Distributive Justice: Possibilities and Challenges

The issue of global resources distribution remains a contention that divides populations everywhere. In a global scenario where population growth is outpacing production of resources in certain regions, and profit accumulation is preferred over compassion and is increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few people, discussion about distribution of resources becomes very difficult. Who should be given access to life-sustaining benefits and why? In an attempt to answer this question, a number of arguments are presented here as an invitation to examine the conditions that polarize global populations. There is no hope or answer in quick-fix solutions. Instead, this article tries to demonstrate that there is a link between resources distribution and distributive justice in such a way that the possibilities evident in collaborative interaction far exceed the ideologies that divide the globe into haves and have-nots
