Abstract :
Hospital management has been centre of academic and researchattention for decades in advanced countries due to its significance incommunity healthcare. Effective utilization of human resourceavailable in hospitals has also received increasing attention indeveloped countries. However, there seemed acute shortage ofempirical evidence from developing countries especially fromPakistan. As a result, this study investigated Effective Utilization ofHRM in Selected Public and Private Hospitals of Karachi andHyderabad, Sindh through questionnaire survey. Findings of this studysuggest sharp contrast in the way human resource is managed in twosectors. Private healthcare sector appeared effective in utilization ofavailable human factor with incentive schemes and motivation atwork. While, public sector hospitals seemed governed throughcumbersome rules with less opportunity of employee involvement,motivation and satisfaction. Policy recommendation for governmentand decision making quarters are discussed in the last section
