Abstract :
The situation of a house in Çandarlı, a town of Dikili county in İzmir city, in different periods between its first cunstruction in1856 and today are evaluated in this article. The house opened its doors to a new family after the population exchange of Lausanne in 1923. In 2013, the house was restored. Firstly, the article discusses under what kind ofarchitectural influence the house was built. In the second part, the reasons for the interventions to indoor house are investigated; and finally the practices that were applied during the restoration according to intended use are evaluated. The architectural form of the house and the historical events that played roles in its change in three different periods, which are evaluted seperately, are explored through the physical memory of the house.
