THE IMPORTANCE AND THE ROLE OF THE SAFETY COMMUNICATION TO CREATE THE SAFETY CULTER IN YACHT HARBOURS

When the historical process is concerned, the view that job accidents are caused by human behavior rather than a technical problem connected with machinery and equipment is gaining importance today. One of the important factors in the prevention of work accidents is safety culture communication. Safety culture communication is an important tool for employees to create, organize and improve attitudes, behaviors, values, beliefs and norms towards safety. There are very few studies on safety culture and safety climate concepts in Turkey. It has emerged that safety communication plays an extremely important role in the harmonization and participation of employees safety procedures and policies. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the effect of safety communication on employees perceptions of safety culture. The main emphasis is on safety culture and safety communication. The sample of the study is composed of 268 people working at yacht harbours. According to the analysis results of the participant survey, there was a significant relationship between the level of safety culture of employees and the dimension of safety communication. According to this, raising the communication level makes a positive difference in the safety culture perception level of the employees
