Ovarian metastasis in stage IB squamous cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix: a case report

Introduction: Ovarian metastasis in early invasive squamous carcinoma of the cervix is rare with only a few case reported to date. Case description: A case of bilateral ovarian metastasis in stage IB squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix is reported to discuss the risk factors of ovarian involvement in early cervical cancer. Discussion: Ovarian preservation and transposition can be performed in young women with stage I cervical cancer if the tumors are small, without deep stromal invasion, extra-uterine spread or lymphovascular invasion
