THE FILM EDITOR IN NOLLYWOOD: TECO BENSON S WAR FRONT AS PARADIGM

This paper is motivated by the need to look behind the scene in the filmmaking process, to establish the very important role played by the Editor in the final film released to the viewing public. The study is anchored on the work of Teco Benson, one of Nigeria s film Director/Editors who has left an indelible foot print in the practice of filmmaking. A critical assessment of War Front reveals the very important position of the Editor in the process of filmmaking in Nigeria. The major contribution of the study is the repositioning of the Editor s importance in the process of filmmaking using Teco Benson s work
