Abstract
The term Focal and Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) implies that only a portion of the glomerulus (segmental) and only some of the glomeruli (focal) are involved. FSGS is a major cause of idiopathic nephrotic syndrome in adults and somewhat less common in children.
