Abstract :
In the field of English teaching, the number of teachers not preferring to use course books by creating their own teaching materials instead of current printed materials is increasing gradually. This study examines the possible reasons of use and disuse of course books by presenting the findings of the research investigating a group of ELT teachers’ perception and preference towards the use of course book and offers some comments on the materials adaptation according to the findings of the research.
