Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the most important infectious diseases in humans and is endemic in many developing countries. In situations wherein the immune system becomes impaired such as acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) or organ transplant recipients who are on immunosuppressive drugs, tuberculosis is a major problem and the key to controlling it is rapid detection. Cytologic diagnosis of TB has been described in several previous reports; we herewith describe a renal transplant recipient in whom TB was diagnosed through bone marrow cytology.
