Abstract :
This study involves 120 Malay female community aged between 20 to 50 years old in Serdang Raya, Sri Serdang and Seri Kembangan, Selangor. The objectives of this study were to identify the types of digital media used by the Malay female community and to discuss the usage of the digital media in self-development in this digital era. A set of questionnaire was distributed among the subjects and interview sessions were conducted for research purposes. Selected interview extracts were analysed using the discourse analysis method. The findings revealed that subjects are using digital media for their self improvement and able to use the digital media ethically. It is hoped that this study gives encouragement towards the Malay female community to increase their knowledge.
