TRADITIONAL MALAY POETRY IN THE BUKAN LALANG DITIUP ANGIN (1970) DRAMA BY NOORDIN HASSAN

Dramatic personae Noordin Hassan who was born in Pulau Pinang is the 7th National Literary Laureate is a unique, creative and prolific writer. His presence in the arena of modern Malay drama and local theatre has given a fresh new scene to the Malay Literary field. His boldness in presenting new antirealisme dramatizing concept which are absurd and experimental drama has opened up a new dimension in the Malay drama scene. To prove, he has been using poetry in all his drama. This research is done in order to identify and analyse types of poet Malays poet used in his written drama entitled Bukan Lalang Ditiup Angin (1970). Using the method of collecting and analysing the data of the drama script, this reasearch is also using keywords from the conceptual theory founded by Mohamad Mokhtar Abu Hassan (2001). Hopefully, this finding shall contributes to the Malay Literary arena.
