Abstract :
Uncertain changes in economic climate has affected many people, including people in rural areas. As a result, there are individuals who opt to sell kratom leaves as an extra source of income. The situation is getting worse when the rubber prices keep decreasing. The unpredictable weather changes have also affected the rice farmers income. This article attempts to disclose the existence of those who are desperate in life and had decided to sell the source of kratom leaves as an extra income. A total of ten respondents were randomly selected for the study. The results of interviews shows that they had to do so because of the economical factor. The law enforcement on kratom leaves would create social impact implication to the stake holders
