Abstract :
Song is a medium of feelings expression which converted into writing in order to be understood by the audience. Song may considered as part of poetry which the language element is vital along with writer’s creativity to produce a good song. Therefore, this study will identify the symbolism aspects of the verb in the ‘Let It Go’ song in Malay language version entitled ‘Bebaskan’. This is the theme song for the Frozen animated film which was aired since 2013. Sang by Marsha Milan Londoh ,the lyrics were change into Malay version. This study aims to identify the verb used in the ‘Bebaskan’ song and discuss its meaning and function of the verb. By using the song as a research instrument, textual analysis were conducted based on the Relevance Theory by Sperber Wilson (1986). The results of the study revealed that the use of verbs in the ‘Bebaskan’ song affects the understanding among audience.
