DIDACTIC ELEMENTS IN THE TEXT OF RECALIBRATED BUDGET 2016

Different language style of delivery either in oral or written needs to convey with good and precise word selection. There are various styles often used by writers or speakers such as formal language style, poetic, rhetorical, didactic and others. This study focuses on didactic elements in the Recalibrated Budget 2016 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The objectives are to analyze the didactic element used by the Prime Minister in the Recalibrated Budget 2016 text and to discuss the impact of didactic elements in the speech. This research approach using a qualitative method to analyze content, where the data derived from the text. Asmah Haji Omar framework of Language Style (1987) will be refered to analyze and discuss the principles of this study. This study found that the text were successfully used didactic elements and there is a positive effect in terms of moral values instill to the public. This study is important to the general public whereby good and positive value extracted from the recalibrated budget text.
