The fai-infrared absorption by small metallic particles

In analyzing the effect of the size, coating, and shape of small metallic particles on the far-infrared absorption, we find that size and coating do not alter the far-infrared absorption noticeably, but shape has a strong influence on it. When there is a shape (or effective shape) distribution, an anomalous enhancement of the far-infrared absorption can result.
