TÜRKİYE’DE SPOR HİZMETLERİNİN YERELLEŞMESİNE İLİŞKİN BELEDİYE BAŞKANLARININ GÖRÜŞLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

The role and importance of sports have increased within the fast-changing and developing world, and bringing sports to large masses have become more important. In this sense, there is a need for local authorities to be brought to active position in dissemination of sports, ensuring the individuals’ active participation in sports and directing the whole society to sports activities and organizations. Depending on the localization tendency that appears in sports services in recent years, the main purpose of the study is to find out the opinions of mayors regarding local authorities. Within the framework of this research, a questionnaire was applied to mayors working in different types of municipalities. In the study, a 5 Likert scale consisting of 23 questions was used. Findings obtained were subjected to reliability test with SPSS 18 statistics program and Alpha coefficient was found 0.920. Reliability analysis, frequency tables, descriptive statistics, factor analysis and Man Whitney U, Kolmogorov Smirnov and Kruskal Wallis analyses were used. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that the opinions of the participants regarding the localization of sports services in Turkey vary in different sub-dimensions by the age, education, period of service and type of municipality.
