Abstract :
Atatürk, the founder of Turkish Republic, has been one of the most respected and beloved rare leaders in the world, especially in his own nation. Creating a miracle, he not only established a new country from a dispersed and destroyed empire, but also managed to bring the country to a level to keep up with the modern world in a short ten years’ time. With all these superior features, Atatürk has been honored with the infinite love of Turkish Nation. But Atatürk, in each period of National Struggle from the beginning until his death, spent a life with his oppositon shown in different ways. This opposition stemmed from his personality characteristics and thethings he did as well in political sense. This opposition even reached to attempts to kill him sometimes with a sense of hated and revenge. It is known that a large number of assassination plans were made against Atatürk. Çerkez Ethem is behind some of these. One of the killing trials thought to be organized by him took place in 1935. This event known to be organized by Çerkez Ethem and his relatives found a wide echo in the period’s media. In this study, the process of opposition starting from the National Struggle has been given, Circassian Ethem has been and the evaluation of 1935 assassination plan has been made. Mentioning the general features of the 1930 and the situation with the media leading newspapers of the period such as Cumhuriyet, Ulus, Aksam and Tan. It has been tried to provide information about the responses to the incident both inside and outside the country and the process justice.
