Abstract :
During and after World War Two, Britain has started to ship the military materials in Middle East particularly to Turkey under the title of military aid. As a result of Adana conference made between Britain and Turkey, the schedules of these aids were prepared and the military materials which especially enter from Mersin and Đskenderun Ports were transferred to troops through railway and highway. Planning, shipment and logistic structuring of the aids to be made with mutual discussions of British and Turkish military delegations were prepared and the military materials were shipped. The main factor lying behind all these discussions and aids is the thought of getting Turkey involved in the war along with Britain and benefiting from strategic importance of Turkey. This paper is handled and prepared in consequence of the classification of the documents related to World War Two in the archive of General Staff, Department of Military History and Strategic Survey and the opening to studies of researchers of the documents is abolished.
