TURGUT ÖZAL S APPROACH ON KURDİSH TROUBLE

The 1983-1991 period of Turkish Republic went down in history as the years with Turgut Özal. This period, in which very serious evolutions and permanent impacts were experienced in economic, politic and social areas by Turkish Republic. This period was important for democratization and the Kurdish Issue as well. In this period, the Kurdish Issue not only gained a different appearance, but also be came a vital matter which results in serious developments and evolutions that would happen in the next future. Turgut Özal was the order of the day with kinds of statements and applications about the Kurdish Issue and in this way the Kurdish Issue continued to be the order of the day. A far different Presidency of a Republic holds key for understanding the effects of this behaving of President of Turkey, Turgut Özal for the Kurdish Issue to contemporary Kurdish Issue’a dynamics and actionizm, and comprehending the situation of the Kurdish Issue in a more rational way. In this regard, it will be more convenient to discuss this 8-year-period in accordance with internaland external developments of the Kurdish Issue as two different periods- the prime ministry and presidency of Turgut Özal
