Abstract :
According to number of anthropometric researches in our country, it is seen that neither the numbers nor the contents of researches are enough. This investigation consists of 180 men and 180 women workers who work by sitting continuously. Their ages are changing from 25 to 55. The workers were separated in 6 equal groups with 30 men and 30 women each in it. The anthropometric measurements were taken in order to International Biological Programme (IBP) standards. The percentile curves of these measurements, differentiating with age and sex, were calculated and drawn by using LMS methods. In the light of this investigation, it is seen that whereas, height, sitting height, lower leg height, lower side of the body height and knee height were decreasing, the weight and hip breadth values were increasing in older ages. The results show that the height shortness was occurred on workers who work by sitting because of the pressure increase on their vertebrae. Moreover, it is observed that the hip breadth values were increasing parallel with body weight. The tallness in young ages can be dependent on not only secular changes, socio-economic structures and feeding conditions but also deformation on vertebrae of workers bodies.
