Abstract
This study has been done to investigate the effect of intensity interval training on aerobic and anaerobic power in football players aged 14-16. 60 athletes participated in this study voluntarily. While the method of intensity interval training was applied to 30 football players in the experimental group on average for 1 hour in 3 days per week during 10 weeks, the control group of 30 persons went on doing normal training. In both groups athletes’ aerobic power was measured with Cooper test and their anaerobic power was determined by jumping test. As a result of this study, no significant difference was found in the anaerobic power (p 0.05) while there was a significant difference in the aerobic power of the experimental group (p 0.05). It was discovered that there was no significant difference in athletes’ aerobic and anaerobic power in the control group (p 0.05). In conclusion, it can be said that the method of intensity interval training has a positive effect on the aerobic capacity for football players aged 14-16.
