Abstract :
The aim of this study is to investigate the changes of body composition, hydration status and fluctuation of weight loss in elite senior free style and Greco- Romen style wrestlers (n=52) in a period of national training camp before the world championship. The wrestlers’ body composition was determined by using the method of bioelectrical impedance. Hydration level was determined from urine samples taken from wrestlers with the refract meter instrument. All the measurements were made two times, including pre and post camp. As a result of statistical analysis, there was only found significant difference in body weight (P 0.05), no significant differences were found among another body composition variables (P 0.05). However there was found a significant difference between the selected wrestlers to the national team’ competition weight and body weight before four days competition weigh in. There was found statistically significant difference in age variable between selected and unselected wrestlers in national team, no significant differences were found among other variables. It may be said that wrestlers achieved to adjust to weight category in a close of period through competition weigh in. However, selected wrestlers in national team have greater age and training experience according to unselected wrestlers, shows that sport experience is important factor in wrestling success.
