Abstract
Individuals, who choose the sport as a professional career, usually don’t need to learn any new behaviors or skills. So, they get ready to retirement process weakly while leave the professional sport in early ages. Voluntarily or not, professional athletes’ retirement processes become hard and traumatic case. In this process, professional athletes use some methods for dealing hard psychological difficulties. The aim of this study was to determine the athletes’ difficulties in previous, during and post retirement times. Also it was aimed to gain a written document to sport sciences literature with this study. Study was based on literature searching. As a result, it could be said that athletes have difficult times in previous, during and post retirement process, also after the retirement, they need help to fix up their lives.
