Abstract :
The continuous of information and communication technology development occur the competition in all matters, especially in trade and business. And smart companies or organizations that take advantage of all existing technologies and opportunities will continue to compete and strengthen their position in the competitive economic environment, especially in the era of digital economy. In this era, the Internet became the main catalyst. The presence of World Wide Web in 1990s caused many people build the websites to introduce their organization and products to a wider market;including the parties involved in the publishing world. Website becomes a new marketing channel to the organization. University publishers in Malaysia have also entered the virtual world by developing their own web pages in an effort to market their publications, scholarly books, and build a close relationship with consumer.This article discusses the use of the website by the publishers of public universities in Malaysia as a tool of marketing and communication for scholarly books published by them. The selected websites will be surveyed to see how it been used to stay in increasingly competitive market, especially in the cyber age
