EDITORIAL: Waste Management in the Wake of a Disaster - Are We Prepared?

News frequently reports economic gloom, politicians making a mockery of their office and attention-grabbing large-scale disasters occurring all over the world. Earthquakes, cyclones and volcanic eruptions causing tsunamis, storms, flooding, fires and landslides continue to be the bane of modern normalcy. These disasters are deadly. It reduces buildings, cars and other infrastructure to rubble and results in massive public health, solid waste and logistical problems.
