Abstract :
Witch crafting is nothing new in the Malaysian society. More so, such practice has long been rampant due to absence of specific legislation which punishes its perpetrator. Ever since the year of 1975, efforts were heard to be taken to enact a law which deals with witch crafting. Nevertheless such effort has yet to be realised. Hence it is time to codify the law on witch crafting so that both witches as well as those who seek for their services can duly be prosecuted and punished. This will simultaneously vindicate those who have been oppressed by such heinous crime. Nevertheless, there are of course various obstacles obstructing the implementation of criminal law on witch crafting in Malaysia. This writing discusses various issues on witch crafting from legal perspective. It simultaneously comes up with some suggestions and ideas in ensuring that witchcraft law could be realised in Malaysia.
