Importance of Pain in Orthodontics

Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with cultural values, anxiety, inspiration and previous experiences. It has been declared that most orthodontic patients experience pain during treatment. The frequent complaints are discomfort, sensitivity and pain from teeth. The unpleasant feeling of pain has an adverse effect on patients’ attitude towards orthodontic treatment. This review aimed to evaluate information about pain and the related factors during orthodontic treatments.
