Abstract :
In dentistry, cross infections may be easily occured because of the transfer of infectious agents (mucosa, saliva, blood, body liquids contaminated with blood, aerosols etc.) from one individual to another (between dentist, health personnel and patient) in clinical environments. That’s why, patients, dentists and other health staff run risks of cross infection every time when they enter the dental clinical environment. Therefore, all health pesonnel must adapt to sterilization and disinfection rules for control of infections. If the dentists does not perform the sterilization and disinfection rules certainly, they may give rise to some dangerous viral and bacterial diseases for example “Hepatit A, B, C, AIDS and etc.” and cross infections for their patients and themselves. The contact with infected materials become less and protection from infectious diseases may be provided if dentists use gloves, masks, glasses, personel protective clothes. This article is about the rules that must be adapted for the infection control and things to do for the essential sterilization and disinfection.
