Abstract :
Comparison of microleakage of nanofilled resin composites cured with different light curing units Aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of two different light curing units used to cure resin composites with different monomer structures on microleakage of Class II box cavities with restoration margins ending in dentin in vitro. Ninty extraceted sound human third molar teeth were used. 180 cavities with mesial and distal box cavities were prepared on 90 teeth. For each resin composite and curing unit 10 teeth were restored. Microleakage values were compared with Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests (p 0,05). Statistical differences were found among the groups. Interactions of different light curing units and different resin composites were found to be affecting microleakage. These differences were found to be statistically significant (p 0,05). When the effects of halogen and LED curing units on microleakage of resin composites were considered; Clearfil Majesty, Herculite XRV and Supreme XT cured with halogen curing unit showed less microleakage (p 0,05). No statistical differences were found with Clearfil APX, Spectrum TPH, CeramX Mono, Herculite XRV Ultra, Z250 and Silorane (p 0,05). Silorane based composites showed lowest microleakage values among all resin composites cured with each light curing unit.
