Abstract :
In this paper we develop an algorithm based on Krylov subspace method for computing the exact inertia of a real symmetric (complex Hermitian) matrix with- out computing the eigenvalues which requires only m2n ops. The implementation of the nal algorithm has been tested by numerical examples, the results show that the algorithm converges fast and works accurately.
