BENEFITS OF SAYEMBARA AND LITERATURE REWARDS TO WRITERS

Sayembara and Literature Rewards are the best platforms for writers to publish his or her writings. One of the reasons is that there are clear guidelines provided to the writers by the organisers which enable them to be guided in producing quality piece of writings. While, the literature rewards is a form of recognition given to the writers upon the publication, based on the selected judging criteria designed. The objective of this research is to identify a series of benefits obtained by the writers after winning any Sayembara dan Literature Rewards. Secondly, this research is set to identify and elaborate the main criteria which are the focus of the panel to win any Sayembara dan Literature Rewards. Overall, the research is based on qualitative research through secondary data obtained from selected library archives such as journals, thesis, books and others. The outcome of the research will be able to showcase the benefits of Sayembara to the winners on top of the existing benefits. The main criteria outlined by the appraisal panel are the character strengths of the characters that are positive and dynamic, have literary aesthetic value, the application of intellectual elements and able to stimulate the reader s feelings. In addition, there are also works that receive criticism after being appointed as a winner of the contest. Therefore, this should be further refined.
