Abstract :
This study was carried out to determine almond genotypes which had high performances in Ergani distinct of Diyarbakir province during the years 2005 and 2006. At first, 80 almond genotypes were labelled. According to the observation and the evaluation made on these types, they were subjected to the weighted ranked method depend on the specific selection criteria. As a result of work, 7 superior almond genotypes which had the higher performance (ER–3, ER–12, ER–20, ER–33, ER–47, ER–54 and ER–71) were selected. It was determinated that kernel weight, kernel length, kernel width, kernel thickness, kernel ratio, fruit weight, fruit length, fruit width and fruit thickness of the selected genotypes changed from 0.66 to 1.33g, from16.15 to 22.70 mm, from 8.71 to 11.70 mm, from 7.41 to 10.82 mm, from 22.93 to 56.20%, from 1.99 to 3.59 g, from 23.75 to 34.57mm, from 16.00 to 20.51 mm and from 12.64 to 15.23 mm, respectively. Double kernel ratio and twin kernel ratio in the selected genotypes weren’t found. Sound kernel ratio in all types were found as 100 %. Total point was found to be the lowest at 712 and the highest at 799 score according to the flowering. Also, the total point was found to be the lowest at 690 and highest at 776 score according to the quality.
