Abstract :
In this study, the effects of different growing periods (autumn and spring), 3 different light sources (high pressure sodium lamp (HPS), incandescent lamp (ATL) and light emitting diode (LED)) and two different colours (blue and red) on the seedling quality of eggplant were examined in detail. In this analyses, leaf weight ratio (LWR), stem weight ratio (SWR), root weight ratio (RWR), leaf area (LA), leaf thickness (LT), leaf area ratio (LAR) and specific leaf area (SLA) parameters were determined. According to the analysis, RWR 0.12-0.21 g/g, SWR 0.29-0.36 g/g, LWR 0.50-0.57 g/g, LA 23.56-46.45 cm², LAR 435.53-614.47, SLA 851.98-1161.61 and LT 0.0009-0.0012 values were changed in au-tumn. In addition to during the spring, RWR 0.09-0.20 g/g, SWR 0.23-0.49 g/g, LWR 0.41-0.53 g/g, LA 29.69-58.58 cm², LAR 273.18-427.57, SLA 636.63-1036.98 ve LT 0.0010-0.0016 values were changed depending on the different light sources and their different colours. In this research was detected that be-came prominent in terms of features such as body diameter and number of leaves of light source in the seedling analyzed quantitatively. As to HPS and LED implementation, it was detected to have an effect on the increasing number of flow-ers in eggplant. In research with artificial light implementation it was ascertained that stem weight ratio and leaf weight ratio increased. Research results; in eggplant spring season cultivated through blue light implementations, seedling root length, root dry weight, plant dry weight and leaf thickness were ascertained to reach to the peak value and to be advisable.
