Abstract :
In this study, the effects on drops (drawdown) in water level for three different nominal diameters of the irrigation pumps which are vertical line shaft and sub-mersible deep-well pumps in the well having a fixed hardware are investigated. The experiments based on the Anonymous (2002) standard having the conditions of fixed well and stationary hydraulic well-load are done at the test tower of deep-well pump in the department of Agricultural Machinery and Technology Engineering at the Selcuk University. The test tower works on the principle of open-hydraulic circuit composite containers. According to the results, flowrate of pump and the level of drops in well are increased by the increment on the nominal diameter of the pump. For deep-well pump of vertical line shaft, a linear relationship between the nominal diameter of the pump and drops in well is not found under the constant flow-rate. For submersible deep-well pumps and the constant flow-rate (70 m³ h^-1), the level of drops in well are decreased by the increment on the nominal diameter of the pump. Submersible deep-well pumps have larger level of drops in well than vertical line shaft deep-well pumps under the constant flowrate.
