The Importance of Information Technologies Institutionalization of Family Business in Konya

While considered as a small scale enterprise, family-owned businesses can grow in time. In our country, 95 % of small and medium sized enterprises are comprised of family owned companies. However, the existence of the family-owned companies does not last very long and the number of the companies taken over by next generations is limited.In today’s world, the businesses which have a crucial role on economical life are either family owned businesses or ongoing businesses which went into business as family-owned business. While considered as a small scale enterprise, family-owned businesses can grow by time. Institutionalization of family businesses is an important factor in being long-lived. Gradually increased the importance of information technologies in information technology today, the institutionalization of family businesses have a very important place. In this study, the institutionalization of family businesses in order to determine the role of information technology in Konya was conducted to operate the family business. 100 units operating in the manufacturing sector in Konya apply this survey to family businesses, Likert- type scale was used. Survey data obtained by the method were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 program pack . Reliability of the questionnaire is analyzed. Related to demographic characteristics of the respondents of the survey questions were analyzed by Frequency Distribution. Institutionalization and Information Technologies questions were analyzed by the Chisquare test of independence. Survey consists of three parts . In the first part of the questionnaire given to demographic characteristics , and the second section consists of survey questions related to institutionalization . Institutionalization questionnaire consists of 15 questions . In the third part of the survey , the information technology business applications are 12 questions to measure attitudes . Our research is based on two hypothese. Our first hypothesis of our research hypotheses using information technologies in Konya family businesses is important to the business in operation has a positive relationship between used computer number. Our second hypothesized that the Konya region, with the effective use of information technology in the business of institutionalization has a proportional relationship between the number of computers used in business has a positive relationship. The results of this survey and the provinces in the institutionalization of family businesses operating in the role of information technology have been identified. As a result of this study conducted in Konya for family businesses in Konya operating in the information technology in the process of institutionalization has been concluded that it is important. Family businesses that benefit from information technology during institutionalization activities have been identified.
