Especially İzmir Economy Congress was guided the economy policies between 1923-1929. 1135 delegates attended to İzmir İktisat Congress. Looking at the economic level of development of the city of Konya between the years of 1923-1938, it is seen that the city was the center of agriculturel production. But due to the drought , the city was experienced serious declines in agriculturel production and because of primitive methods of agriculture , production level was insufficient to provide desired increase. The city was in the center of the intersection of important trade routes so commercial activity of the city was advanced relatively to the other cities which are compared in the period. Especially wheat and agriculturel and animal products were sent out of the city.Entrepreneurs who had self –sufficient capital did commercial activity in the small-scale, it was impossible to collect capital in a single form and establish large-scale production facilities. Ereğli Cloth Factory was the most important facility in the period. In this study, economic and social activities of Konya city in Turkish economy was examined by using local press. In this context the Newspaper of Babalık, Ekekon, Yenises and Zaman were investigated and the news about the economy were presented .
