Abstract :
In the competitive environment, it is difficult for the companies to maintain their existences. For providing sustainable competitive advantage and for surviving, the importance given to employee is gradually increases because the only element which cannot be imitated is the employees. Therefore, the relationship between the employees and the company, the attitudes of the employees against the institution, starts to become research topic much more. In this study, their relation with each other shall be studies by focusing on the organizational cynism and organizational commitment concepts. The organizational cynism is the negative attitude of the employee against the organization which he/she works. It is expressed as the feelings of the individuals to the organizations like anger, disbelief, distrust, negative attitudes and behaviors. The employees who work with this cynic feelings and behaviors shall affect the productivity of the companies in considerable extent and some undesired attitudes like losing the customer particularly in service companies, shall be confronted. In this study, the organizational cynism is examined in three subsimensions as cognitive, affective and behavioral. The organizational commitment is a psychological status which expresses the situations like loyalty of the employee to the objects of the organization, to show effort for working in the organization and identification with the organization. The organizational commitment forms of three sub-dimensions like emotional loyalty, continuity loyalty and normative loyalty. The organizations have problem in keeping their employees when the competition increases and the turnover rates of the employees increase together with the competition. Therefore, the organizational commitment concept starts to gain importance day by day and the organizations try to find various methods for keeping their employees. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the relation between the organizational cynism and organizational commitment. It is though that the findings which shall be obtained as the result of the study, shall make contribution to recover the deficiencies, to provide beneficial ideas to the literature and practice. The study is in empiric qualification. The questionnaire method is used as the data collection. The research is made in Konya branches of a public bank. The data is analyzed with SPSS packaged software. As the result of the research, it is presented that there is a negatively meaningful relation occurs between the organizational cynism and organizational commitment behavior. The cynism attitude of the employees increases as their organizational commitment decreases and their organizational commitment level increases as their organizational cynism level decreases.
