Abstract :
Folkloric texts settle down in the area where they are narrated in time sequence and geographic variety. The text which does not settle down physical and cultural geography, can not find a chance to live in oral tradition. In this study, while folk story of Bey Böyrek which has settled down in tradition by transforming from epic narrative to folk story in the sample of Kastamonu oral tradition, how the story can be regarded by an intertextual point of view. One of the various methods of analyzing a text according to intertextuality is hyper-textuality. Hyper-textuality is a type of beyond-textuality that is suggested by Genette under the image of Palimsest. Palimsest which is used to name a relationship between a text and texts written before it, puts forward the idea of continuity in between the texts. Starting this feature of Palimsest to approach narratives of Bey Böyrek that have told as folk stories can be helpfull to reveal this continuity. By this way, Bey Böyrek narratives that have become localized in Kastamonu continueing in Kastamonu can be seen a process either undergoing formal or semantic transformations or local continuity of derivations. In the study, the texts that was printed in 1944 by collecting from Arslanoğlu and the texts that were collected in 2005 from Yazan are tried to examined. Collection of Yazan as hypertext and publication of Arslanoğlu as hypo-text are determined. When hypertexts of Bey Böyrek which become localized in Kastamonu surveied in serious order, can be seen formal and semantic transformations in the same kind of texts(folk story) and in the same place(Kastamonu) but collected in different time sequences and from diffferent narrators. These changes are generally formal as prosing and succinctness and semantic as motifs. Subjected transformations show which level of variants of narrative derivates. The reason of formal and semantic transformations is changing the context. Contexual changes in inspected variants are changes around narrator, interlocutor, time and location. We can say that folk stories can keep their timeliness by interdiscursive/intertextual process starting with the idea that enabling continuity of cultural elements can be achieved by bringing them to date. Folk narratives can be bringed to date by variant and version. Interdiscursive and intertextual view has the fuction of base symbols of social identity. Narratives of Bey Böyrek secure timeliness in Kastamonu by having created variant and version of story. Their timeliness of national level can be realized also by their transforming into new texts in an intertextual process.
